About Me

I was one of the ‘lucky’ ones whose parents decided for them, that it would be best to start their child’s musical career at the age of two.

I started of with ear – training from the ages two to four, and was in a school where they taught the Suzuki method (don’t ask me how that works, I can’t remember, but apparently, they do that during this time, because it still gives you the option to develop a perfect pitch).

Around the age of four I started playing my first notes on the piano, an instrument, I’m still playing now, about 20 years later. Although, I have to admit, around my early teenager years, I almost thought about quitting, because other things seemed more important.

In my early school years, I played in several school bands, and small ensembles, which lead me to choosing a high school with a focus on music. This school gave me the opportunity to have my first insights in music theory, again, play and accompany on the piano in various forms, and also sing in a 100 – head choir, where some of the concerts where even performed at the St.Stephens cathedral in Vienna. We also covered a wide range of music history, and learned about several compositional styles.

After I finished school, I moved to the UK for a few years, to improve my English. I had an opportunity there to teach music theory and piano at a Private School in Hampshire, started studying at the OCA (see Academic Work), and participated in a few short film projects as well as a few compositional competitions.
